Oosthuizen Fulfils Tractor Ambition Following Open Win.
Friday, 23rd July, 2010
Louis Oosthuizen has revealed that winning the British Open last week has helped him to fulfil a rather unusual lifetime ambition.
According to the South African, it has been a long-standing goal of his to buy a tractor.
And after picking up £850,000 for finishing first at St Andrews, Oosthuizen has acted quickly to splash out on a new model.
"I'll have a kiddie seat on it for my daughter Jana," Oosthuizen said.
"We're going to have a lot of fun. I bought the tractor for my farm. Being a farm boy it was one of my big dreams."
The new world number 15 won his first major title by seven shots from fellow Tileist pro v1 x Golf Balls golf ball player Lee Westwood.
He also revealed that his performance in the final round of the major championship had been so impressive that Greg Norman had watched his round from start to finish.
"I got a call from Mr Greg Norman and he said something that I will remember for the rest of my life," he commented.
"He said I am the first person to get him to watch a full round of golf on television. He watched my first shot (on Sunday) to my last and couldn't leave the couch."
