Oosthuizen Wins His First Tour Event

Oosthuizen shakes off nerves to win maiden European Tour title.
A relived Louis Oosthuizen secured his first European Tour title with a three-shot victory at the Open de Andalucia de Golf in Malaga yesterday (Sunday, March 28th).
The South African admitted to feeling the pressure on the back nine, and particularly when standing over his driver on the 18th tee.
Discussing his adopted strategy for dealing with his nerves, Oosthuizen admitted: "I just decided to hit it as hard as I could."
"Now I want to stay in the top 50 and be competitive every time I play."
Oosthuizen's nearest contenders were England's Richard Finch and Scotland's Peter Whiteford, with the latter appearing the most capable of mounting a credible challenge.
The wedge user looked to be on a charge when he hit an approach to within 12 ft on the 14th hole.
Had he holed the birdie chance, he would have moved within one shot of Oosthuizen following a run of five birdies in eight holes.
However, his miss - along with a bogey on the 15th - effectively handed the title to the South African, whose reward is a trip to the Augusta National for the US Masters next month as a member of the world's top 50.
